One
of the entertainment industry’s most versatile talents,
Salli has performed in nearly a hundred theatrical productions
in all genres, in several dozen films and television shows
and has voiced radio and television commercials from coast
to coast. The reviews are in and the critics are unanimous,
across the board, Salli is the “go-to-girl”
in Hollywood.
She began her
training in an on-camera acting class while doing community
theatre on Long Island, New York. Upon graduating Baldwin
Senior High-School, she moved into New York City proper
and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology receiving
her AAS in Fashion Buying and Merchandising. During her
two year stint at F.I.T. Salli continued her thespian pursuit,
taking acting classes, doing plays, as well as performing
in independent and student films for nothing but the love
and the experience. To pay the bills she worked in the garment
industry, did accounting, demonstrated products, waited
tables, nannied, you know the story…
In 1988, Salli
transferred to Hunter College where she graduated with a
BA in Theatre Arts. From there she was whisked to London
for a summer to study at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts,
finally returning to New York to continue her non-stop work
in theatre and film.
Finally,
in 1996, Tinsel Town came calling and Salli made the move
to the Left Coast to try and make a living at this thing
called acting and she’s been doing so ever since.
Her voice over career provides opportunities and steady
work, while she continues to work in film and television,
from art house, to big budget, from cable to network, the
roles just keep coming. Salli finished out 2005 on stage
with the re-opening of the sold-out show “Sunset Park”
at the Zephyr theatre in Hollywood and starts 2006 with
guest roles on “In Justice”
and “Crossing Jordan”.
A painter, a
gourmet cook, a dancer, as well as an actor, this renaissance
woman still lives in Los Angeles, married to writer/actor/director
Colin Mitchell and doted on by her three kittens Skye, Otis
and Aretha.
